Deciding what your child should be for Halloween is a big task. You want to choose a costume that will be cute and memorable, but you also want to try and avoid spending a lot of money. If you have a young child, you may be overwhelmed by the large amount of cute costumes available and have trouble narrowing it down. If you have an older child, getting him to come to a decision can also be a challenge. To help narrow down your options, start with price. Set a price limit for the costume. Anything outside of that price range is automatically eliminated. Even if that dragon costume is cute, your child will not look as adorable once you have actually forked over the $50 for the costume.
Focus on your child’s interests. The firefighter costume may be cute, but if your toddler has no interests in firefighters, getting him into the costume and excited about the costume will be a struggle. Choose a costume that your child will love because it’s something that regularly interests him. It could be a favorite sport, a celebrity, a cartoon character or something to represent a favorite toy or hobby.
If you still cannot make the final decision, play eenie meenie. Whatever costume the game decides on is the costume you’ll choose. Your child will look great in whatever costume he ends up getting. Of course, if you’re not satisfied with that option, you can also RSVP to multiple Halloween events, plan to wear a different costume and give yourself an excuse to buy them all.
